In this four-week series, we immerse ourselves in the contemporary art of diary and life writing—exploring its significance in literature, creative expression, and self-discovery.
Throughout 4 weeks in May, we keep our own diaries, sharing selected entries within a supportive and community-focused space.
Drawing inspiration from writers and diarists such as Virginia Woolf, Anaïs Nin, Audre Lorde, and Annie Ernaux, we examine the complexities of privacy versus public audience. We will ponder and explore authenticity, confession, performance. Our writing topics during this month long series include 'the ordinary', intimacy, and the construction of the self.
Each week we will center our class around a key theme.
